Our client is seeking a Data Specialist to join their CIS (Clarify Insights Services) team on a contract basis. As a contractor, you will work closely with our team to develop, generate and maintain tailored data products (reports, analytics and data extracts) for our customers. The CIS team serves as a collaborative hub for data-driven advanced analytics, addressing complex business questions across the healthcare domain.

We are always looking for new team members who will add to our culture and have a strong passion for impact. In particular, the Data Specialist will have:
- 3+ years of experience working with AWS Athena and Presto SQL in a data analytics or business intelligence role.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data manipulation in Excel.
- Familiarity with clinical coding systems such as ICD9/10 diagnosis codes, ICD9/10 procedure codes, CPT codes, revenue codes, provider NPI codes, and NDC Rx codes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- Exposure to concepts in public health, epidemiology, health policy, economics, or related disciplines preferred, but not required.

Your day-to-day activities:
The Data Specialist will be responsible for a range of responsibilities, including (but not limited to):
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to generate custom data products for customers.
- Provide expertise in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
- Analyze large datasets to extract insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with customer facing teams to understand client requirements.
- Generate and deliver outputs to customers on a scheduled basis (including deliverables in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports and analyses.
- Maintain and enhance data products on an ongoing basis, as needed.
- Leveraging pre-written code, changing parameters, performing QA, transposing data
