Opportunity for impact

Newfire Global Partners, a leader in developing disruptive healthcare technology, collaborates with Fortune 500 companies and start-ups to drive transformation.

Studio@Newfire is seeking an experienced Lead UX Designer for a contract position part-time beginning in February 2026. This role will initially focus on leading the redesign of a senior fitness mobile application through June 2026, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent position leading client engagements across our healthcare consultancy portfolio.
You’re a Perfect Match If You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience in UX design, including leading client/stakeholder relationships and coordinating design teams on healthcare projects (e.g., hospital systems, startups, insurers).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in setting design strategy, facilitating stakeholder collaboration, and delivering successful client outcomes. Experience with senior-focused or accessibility-centered design is a plus.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Whimsical, and Miro, with an inclination toward designing openly and collaboratively.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with diverse client audiences. Consulting experience a plus.
  • Experience coordinating design teams and providing direction to other designers without formal management responsibility. Comfortable working with distributed/global teams.
Role & responsibilities
As a software consultancy primarily serving healthcare organizations, we require a candidate with strong client facilitation skills and a solid understanding of the U.S. healthcare domain.

The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive background in UX design to lead client engagements and coordinate project teams while fostering strong collaboration with stakeholders. This role requires proven ability in workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and turning early-phase ambiguity into clear design strategies.

What you'll do

  • Initial engagement (February–June 2026): Lead the redesign of a senior fitness mobile application, serving as the primary design contact for the client and pairing with an experienced mobile designer. You'll guide the project from knowledge transfer through high-fidelity prototyping, user testing/validation, and long-term vision development. This project specifically focuses on digital-first experiences, gamification integration, and senior-centric accessibility.
  • Lead client relationships for key projects, serving as the primary design contact and ensuring client needs and feedback drive the design process.
  • Facilitate design workshops, stakeholder review sessions, and weekly check-ins with clients to maintain project momentum and alignment.
  • Collaborate with the VP of UX to set high-level design direction for projects, coordinating teams of 2–4 designers (including US and global team members) to choose the right UX techniques and execute on the design vision.
  • Pair with mid-level designers who focus on detailed design, providing direction and critique to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Partner with the UX Research team to ensure research insights inform design strategy and validate design decisions with clients.
  • Participate in project estimation and scoping activities, helping to define realistic timelines, resource needs, and project approaches.
