Newfire is seeking a  Senior Director of Engineering (Advisory Services) with SaaS experience to drive the modernization and spearhead the development of a unified, next-generation clinical technology platform for a current healthcare client. This new platform will serve as the foundation for all clinical data and operations across every line of business. By creating a robust and innovative solution, this leader will enable enhanced care management, utilization management, and data-driven decision-making—ultimately working to improve healthcare outcomes for millions of Americans.

Reports To: Head of Advisory Services/CTO


You’re a Perfect Match If You Have:
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Director, Vice President of Engineering or Chief Technology Officer.
    • Experience in client-facing roles, with a knack for understanding and translating client needs into actionable strategies.
    • Experience in the healthcare industry, and familiarity with the data standards and regulatory requirements that drive healthcare technology decision making in the US. 

  • Skills:
    • Strong grasp of modern software development practices, cloud services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
    • Ongoing technical fluency and a track record of exploring and adopting new technologies, engineering principles, languages and infrastructure.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to mentor, inspire, and lead technical teams.

Role & responsibilities
Client Engagement (80%):
  • Serve as a fractional engineering leader, including as a Consulting CTO, for Newfire customers, supporting short-term initiatives and long term engagements, including management of engineering resources from Newfire and from customers. 
  • Engage with client leadership teams to understand their strategic tech needs, challenges, and growth ambitions and develop overall technology strategies.
  • Lead “Accelerated Starts,” strategic technology projects and technical assessments for VC, PE and privately funded organizations, providing executive oversight and overall responsibility for delivery.
  • Support Newfire’s sales team and leadership team in conversations with new customers, designing engagement models that maximize the value Newfire can deliver to those customers.
  • Act as a technical liaison for new service development, ensuring that our company's services align with the evolving needs of our clients.

Internal Leadership (20%):
  • Lead recruiting initiatives for key roles and participate in the development of Newfire’s engineering strategy.
  • Organize and lead workshops, tech talks, and training sessions.
  • Mentor and provide career growth guidance to our senior technical staff.
  • Develop and refine technical frameworks, methodologies, and best practices for our teams to adopt as best practices which can be shared with customers.


The Offer
Newfire Global is committed to consistent compensation practices across our organization. Total compensation for this role is market driven, with a salary of $260K - $293K (comprised of a base and bonus). Base pay is ultimately determined based on a candidate's skills, expertise, and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental & vision coverage, health spending accounts, voluntary benefits, leave of absence policies, Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) program with employer contribution, Flexible work schedules and time-off policy, as well as company equipment for all new full-time US-based remote employees.
