What's the Project?

The IMPaCT is a standardized, scalable program that leverages Community Health Workers –trusted laypeople from local communities– to improve health. It was created by the Penn Center for Community Health Workers used a decade of research and development, as well as experience from running the nation’s leading CHW program, to create a SAAS and Service offering for healthcare and community-based organizations nationwide.
IMPACT is a cloud-based technology that allows health and community-based organizations to build a new community health workforce. The product is a platform for hiring, training, and managing Community Health Workers at an enterprise scale and is RCT-proven to improve health and lower costs.
In the last three years, IMPaCT has become the most widely disseminated community health worker program in the United States.

You Perfectly Match If you have:
  • Experience with database review/optimization
  • Experience with building reporting data storage/processing
  • Experience with database administration
  • Experience in building reporting solutions
  • Experience with databases – both SQL and NoSQL
  • Expertise in building ETL pipelines
  • Experience working with Product Managers, and Business Analysts to understand their data requirements and build appropriate solutions and platforms
  • Practical experience working with AWS
  • Proficient with versioning tools and workflows such as Git/GitHub
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools and techniques
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field of study
  • Track record of working in Scrum / Agile software teams
  • Proficient in spoken and written English

Technical Skills

  • Strong SQL abilities and experience with massive relational database systems.
  • Strong experience with working with SQL DBs like MS SQL, Postgres or MySQL.
  • Strong knowledge of all traditional Data Warehouse-related components (Sourcing, ETL, Data Modeling, Infrastructure, BI, Reporting) and the modern tools to support those components
  • Familiarity with researching and experimenting with BI Tools.
  • Flexibility and creativity in solution design – including leveraging emerging technologies
  • Ability to clearly explain and justify ideas when faced with competing alternatives
  • Ability to design, communicate and apply effective and  architectural design patterns across a wide range of technical problems
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery and DevOps
  • Familiarity with GIT and release engineering strategies.

Day-to-day activites:

  • Build and administrate the infrastructure for ingesting high-volume data from various sources.
  • Design and implement the processes that turn data into insights. Model and mine the data to describe the system’s behaviour and to predict future actions.
  • Build effective visualizations and reports for the consumption of data insights by all stakeholders, using modern BI tools
  • Develop and maintain the data-related scripting for build/test/deployment automation.
  • Research individually and in collaboration with other teams on how to solve problems.
  • Partner with team members and research, design, test, and evaluate new technologies and services as they apply to data engineering and science.
  • Partner with team members to maintain an organization-wide view of current and future strategy and approach as it applies to data engineering and science.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices in data engineering and science.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs
  • Support with Scrum / Agile software development approach (e.g., sprint, standups, retros, planning, pointing, grooming, etc.
